Company Info

Shangri-La is a global luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its properties are known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, and comprehensive guest facilities, including restaurants, spas, meeting venues, and recreational activities. In Indonesia, Shangri-La properties serve leisure and business travellers and employ teams across rooms, food and beverage, engineering, finance, and guest services. Employees generally work in a structured hotel environment with department-specific training, operational procedures, and opportunities to develop within the wider group. Benefits and working conditions vary by property, position, and local employment regulations, so candidates should confirm details such as accommodation, meals, service charge, insurance, and transport directly with the hiring hotel.

Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hotel and resort opportunities across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other islands, particularly in engineering, housekeeping, food and beverage, front office, and guest services. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong tourism industry, and higher living costs in popular areas. Java provides larger cities, transport links, and broader employment options, while Lombok and smaller islands offer quieter surroundings but fewer services. Local culture values respect, modesty, community, and religious awareness; Bahasa Indonesia is essential, while English helps in international hotels. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits before starting employment. Indonesian nationals should verify contract, tax, insurance, accommodation, and service-charge terms. Research transport, housing, healthcare, climate, and distance from family before relocating, and confirm the exact work location with Shangri-La.
