The Assistant Chief Engineer supports the Chief Engineer in managing hotel engineering, maintenance and building services. Typical requirements include a diploma or degree in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering, relevant experience in hotel or commercial property maintenance, and knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection and workplace safety. The successful candidate is expected to supervise technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to emergencies, monitor contractors, control costs and maintain compliance with Singapore regulations. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills are important. Experience with a luxury hotel, computerized maintenance systems and energy-saving initiatives would be advantageous. The role generally requires flexibility for shifts, weekends and on-call duties.
