Destination Guide

The Maldives offers strong employment opportunities in luxury resorts, especially in hospitality, food and beverage, housekeeping, guest services, diving, wellness, engineering, finance, and training. Resort islands are usually separated from local communities, creating a close workplace lifestyle with staff accommodation, meals, recreational facilities, and shared social spaces. Maldivian culture is predominantly Muslim, so modest dress and respect for local customs are important, particularly when visiting inhabited islands. The climate is tropical, with warm temperatures throughout the year and wetter periods during the southwest monsoon. Foreign employees generally require a valid work permit and employment approval arranged by the employer; entry procedures and documentation should be confirmed before travel. Relocation commonly includes an employment contract, medical checks, flights, accommodation, and meals, but benefits vary. Travel between islands is usually by speedboat or domestic flight.
