Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, retail, floristry, events, luxury shopping and tourism, particularly for candidates with customer-service and supervisory experience. Its culture combines Cantonese traditions, international business influences, excellent food and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. The city has efficient public transport, extensive shopping and dining, and easy access to beaches, hiking trails and nearby islands. Living costs are high, especially for housing, although staff accommodation or allowances may be available for some hotel roles. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa arranged through an approved employer, with applications supported by a confirmed job offer and evidence that the candidate is suitably qualified. Dependants may be eligible for accompanying visas. Relocating employees should budget for a rental deposit, health insurance, transport and daily expenses, and should confirm salary, accommodation, working hours and visa support before accepting an offer.
