Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognized for its Asian-inspired service culture. The group operates hotels, resorts and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. Its portfolio includes Shangri-La, Kerry, Hotel Jen and Traders brands, serving business and leisure travelers through premium accommodation, dining, meetings and wellness experiences. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm hospitality, service excellence, local culture and long-term relationships with guests, colleagues and communities. The company employs a diverse international workforce and offers career opportunities across hotel operations, corporate functions, food and beverage, engineering, finance, sales and human resources. Its Hong Kong presence remains strategically important, with corporate and operational roles supporting the group’s regional and global activities.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, technology, retail, professional services and regional corporate management. For an HR rewards specialist, the largest opportunities are with hotel groups, property companies, banks, airlines and multinational businesses. The culture is international but fast-paced, with Cantonese widely spoken alongside English and Mandarin. Life combines dense urban neighborhoods, excellent public transport, global dining and shopping with beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, especially on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon, so many professionals compare commute time with rent when choosing accommodation. Eligible overseas professionals may apply for an employment visa under the General Employment Policy, usually requiring a confirmed offer, relevant qualifications and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. Employers commonly support visa documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Hong Kong Immigration. Healthcare, banking and tax arrangements should also be organized before relocation.
