The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality and business opportunities. Demand is strong in hotels, luxury retail, tourism, aviation, restaurants, events and destination management, particularly for professionals with international sales experience. The culture is multicultural and generally welcoming, while Islamic customs, modest public behaviour and respect for local traditions should be observed. Lifestyle options range from modern city living and beaches to desert activities, shopping and major sporting and cultural events. Most expatriates are employed under an employer-sponsored residence and work visa; the company normally arranges medical checks, Emirates ID processing and residency formalities. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, health insurance, leave, gratuity and commission terms before relocating. Living costs, especially rent, can be high in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
