Public Area Supervisor

Job Description

The Public Area Supervisor oversees the cleanliness, presentation and maintenance of hotel public spaces, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms and recreational areas. Typical requirements include previous experience in hotel housekeeping or public-area operations, supervisory ability, attention to detail, good communication skills and knowledge of cleaning standards and safety procedures. The successful candidate is expected to lead and coach attendants, prepare work schedules, inspect completed areas, coordinate with engineering and front office teams, respond quickly to guest needs and maintain Shangri-La’s service standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required. Cantonese and English skills are useful in Hong Kong, while Mandarin may be an advantage.
