Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and international business. Hotel roles are available in guest services, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, security and management, although competition can be high. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is efficient, healthcare is high quality and the city is clean and well connected, but rent and daily expenses can be substantial. Singapore has a tropical climate, excellent food, shopping, parks and convenient regional travel. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Candidates should secure an offer before relocating and confirm pass eligibility, accommodation costs and employment conditions.
