Destination Guide

Indonesia offers engineering and facilities jobs in Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and other tourism destinations, particularly in hotels, resorts, hospitals, malls and industrial sites. Bali is internationally popular, multicultural and easy to reach, but housing and traffic can be expensive in busy areas. Local life combines strong community traditions, religious ceremonies, varied food and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Java generally offers larger cities and broader career opportunities, while Lombok and smaller islands provide a quieter pace but fewer services. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa or stay permit; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with immigration paperwork, although applicants should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, taxes, flights and contract terms before relocating. Learning basic Indonesian is highly useful.
