The Director of Events Management leads the planning, sales, coordination, and delivery of conferences, weddings, banquets, and other resort events. Candidates are generally expected to have a degree or diploma in hospitality, business, or event management, together with substantial experience in hotel events, catering, or conference operations. Strong leadership, budgeting, negotiation, client relationship, and team-management skills are essential. The successful candidate should be commercially minded, highly organized, guest-focused, and capable of managing multiple events while maintaining Shangri-La’s service standards. Flexibility, polished communication, and the ability to work weekends, holidays, and changing schedules are also expected.
