Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago of more than 17,000 islands, with Jakarta located on Java, the country’s commercial and political center. Jakarta offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, retail, and international business, although traffic and congestion can be challenging. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity, and respectful communication. The lifestyle combines modern shopping malls and restaurants with traditional markets, arts, and easy access to beaches and cultural destinations across Java and nearby islands. Major destinations such as Bali, Lombok, and the Riau Islands provide popular weekend and holiday options. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay visa, arranged before employment begins; requirements can change, so official immigration guidance is essential. Relocating employees should budget for accommodation, transport, healthcare, insurance, and potential school fees, while learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly beneficial.
