Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and education. Hospitality jobs are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi, and major business districts. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Life is safe, clean, convenient, and fast-paced, with excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, and beaches. Rent can be expensive, so newcomers often share apartments or live farther from the city centre. Foreign employees normally need a valid work pass arranged by an employer, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on salary, qualifications, and occupation. Candidates should secure a written offer before relocating, check pass eligibility, budget for housing and deposits, and confirm medical, leave, accommodation, and service-charge benefits.
