Junior Sous Chef (Pastry)

Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef (Pastry) supports the Pastry Chef in preparing and presenting pastries, desserts, breads and other baked products to Shangri-La’s quality standards. Requirements typically include professional culinary or pastry training, several years of pastry kitchen experience, sound knowledge of baking techniques, food safety and hygiene, and the ability to work effectively in a busy hotel environment. The successful candidate is expected to supervise and guide junior colleagues, maintain consistent quality and presentation, control wastage, follow recipes and production schedules, and help ensure smooth daily kitchen operations. Creativity, attention to detail, physical stamina, teamwork and a flexible attitude toward shifts, weekends and public holidays are important.
