Destination Guide

Phuket is Thailand’s largest island and a major tourism, property, hospitality, healthcare, education, and financial-services hub. Job opportunities are strongest in hotels, restaurants, real estate, banking, international schools, healthcare, retail, and tourism-related businesses. Thai culture values politeness, respect, patience, and good relationships; learning basic Thai is highly useful. Lifestyle ranges from busy areas such as Patong and Phuket Town to quieter communities in Rawai, Bang Tao, and Kamala. Living costs vary, with housing and transport generally higher in popular beach districts. Foreign employees normally need a suitable job offer, employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa, and work permit before starting work. Thai nationals do not need immigration authorization. Relocating employees should arrange health insurance, secure accommodation, check tax obligations, and confirm whether the employer supports visa processing. Phuket International Airport provides convenient regional and international connections.
