Destination Guide

Thailand offers career opportunities mainly in Bangkok, with additional roles in Phuket, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and major tourist islands. Banking, hospitality, technology, education, healthcare, logistics and digital services are common employment areas, although regulated finance positions generally require local experience and Thai-language capability. Thai culture values politeness, respect for hierarchy, family, community and maintaining harmony. Lifestyle ranges from fast-paced urban living in Bangkok to a slower coastal rhythm, with affordable food, diverse accommodation and excellent public transport in major cities. Foreign employees normally need a job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa and a work permit sponsored by the employer; qualifications and documented experience may be required. Long-term residents should arrange health insurance, tax registration and suitable housing before arrival. Islands provide attractive leisure options, but professional opportunities and international schooling are more limited than in Bangkok.
