The role is responsible for overseeing UOB’s non-financial risk framework, including operational, conduct, technology, outsourcing, resilience and other non-financial risks. Candidates are expected to have substantial experience in enterprise risk management, banking controls, governance, regulatory requirements and risk assessment. Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills are essential, along with the ability to challenge business decisions constructively and translate complex risks into practical actions. Experience managing risk programmes across multiple business units, improving control environments and engaging senior management or regulators would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be analytical, commercially aware, independent and capable of leading teams in a regulated banking environment.
