Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and a leading regional centre for banking, technology, logistics, healthcare and professional services. Strong opportunities exist in treasury, risk, compliance, data, digital banking, corporate finance and wealth management, particularly at major banks and financial institutions. Workplace culture is generally professional, diverse and performance-oriented, with English widely used. The lifestyle is safe and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, efficient healthcare, international schools and extensive dining and shopping options. Housing can be expensive, especially near the central business district, although public-housing estates and suburban areas offer more affordable choices. Foreign professionals normally require an employer-sponsored Employment Pass or another appropriate work pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and experience. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, transport and insurance, and arrange accommodation and immigration documentation before relocating.
