Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, asset management, fintech, technology, healthcare, logistics, and professional services. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in the food, festivals, languages, and neighborhoods. Life is convenient, safe, and efficient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, and many dining and entertainment options. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, while commuting from areas such as Tampines, Jurong East, or Woodlands may reduce costs. Foreign professionals usually need an Employment Pass, sponsored by an eligible employer; salary, qualifications, and job seniority affect eligibility. Families may require dependent passes and should plan for schooling and healthcare expenses. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, tax registration, and health insurance before or soon after relocating.
