Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, fintech, asset management, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. The financial district is concentrated around Marina Bay, Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar, while many international companies operate from areas such as Changi, Jurong and one-north. Local culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western influences, reflected in its food, festivals and multilingual society. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, shopping, parks and hawker centres, although housing and dining in central areas can be expensive. Foreign professionals generally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and experience, and applications are assessed by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. New arrivals should budget for rent, healthcare, transport and deposits, and research neighbourhoods before relocating. English is widely used in workplaces and daily life.
