Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, finance, technology, professional services, healthcare, logistics, and real estate. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, efficient, and generally fast-paced, with high expectations for professionalism and punctuality. Public transport is excellent, although housing, childcare, and dining in central areas can be expensive. Popular lifestyle options include hawker centres, shopping districts, parks, beaches, and nearby regional travel. Foreign professionals typically require an Employment Pass sponsored by an employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and prevailing government criteria. Relocating usually involves securing employment first, arranging accommodation, obtaining health coverage, and preparing for Singapore’s warm, humid climate. Family members may qualify for dependant passes subject to applicable requirements.
