Mechanical Fitter

Job Description

The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and overhauling mechanical equipment in industrial, infrastructure, mining or maintenance environments. Applicants generally need a recognised mechanical trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade, relevant hands-on experience and the ability to read drawings and technical manuals. Experience with pumps, conveyors, rotating equipment, hydraulics or heavy machinery is advantageous. The role requires strong safety awareness, physical fitness, reliable attendance and the ability to work independently or within a team. Candidates may need to complete medical assessments, drug and alcohol screening, site inductions and obtain relevant licences or tickets. Flexibility for shutdowns, shift work, regional assignments or FIFO rosters may also be expected.
