Company Info

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, commonly known as Metrobank, is one of the Philippines’ largest universal banks. Established in 1962, it provides a broad range of services to individual customers, businesses, corporations, and institutional clients. Its offerings include deposits, consumer loans, credit cards, payments, remittances, investment products, treasury services, and corporate banking. Metrobank operates through a nationwide branch and digital-services network and is part of the Metrobank Group, which has interests in financial services and related businesses. The bank is known for serving both retail and commercial customers while investing in technology, financial inclusion, and modern banking channels. A branch role in El Nido combines traditional face-to-face banking with the opportunity to serve residents, local businesses, tourism workers, and visitors in a growing Philippine travel destination.

Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Clark, and regional cities, while tourism islands such as Palawan offer opportunities in banking, hospitality, retail, transport, and small-business services. El Nido has a relaxed coastal lifestyle, warm weather, strong local community ties, and a tourism-driven economy, but housing, transport, and some goods can cost more than in larger cities. Filipino culture values hospitality, respect, family, and cooperative relationships; English is widely used in business, alongside Filipino and local languages. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work visa or permit, while Philippine citizens can relocate freely. New arrivals should confirm accommodation, healthcare access, banking arrangements, transportation, and local employment requirements before moving. Typhoons, ferry disruptions, seasonal tourism, and limited island infrastructure should also be considered. Palawan offers beaches and outdoor activities, but professional networks and specialized services may be smaller than in Manila.
