Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in marine engineering, manufacturing, logistics, construction, technology, finance, healthcare and hospitality. The workplace culture is multicultural, professional and generally fast-paced, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, performance and teamwork. Living standards are high, public transport is efficient, healthcare is well developed and English is widely used. Housing and daily expenses can be expensive, especially in central areas, although many workers choose accommodation near industrial zones or MRT lines. Foreign employees usually need an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit sponsored by an employer, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. New arrivals should confirm work-pass eligibility, arrange approved accommodation, obtain local insurance where required and budget for transport and utilities. Singapore’s compact size makes beaches, parks, food districts and cultural neighbourhoods easily accessible.
