Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, but Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah and several coastal communities offer an island-style lifestyle alongside major urban centers. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, construction, and healthcare provide substantial employment opportunities, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population; modest dress, respect for local customs, and awareness of Islamic holidays are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, desert excursions, shopping, dining, cultural attractions, and year-round outdoor activities, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange the work permit, medical examination, Emirates ID, and residency processing. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, accommodation or allowance, transport, insurance, annual leave, probation, and airfare terms. Rental costs can be high, so budgeting and checking commuting distances are advisable.
