Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak, with hotels, resorts, restaurants and tourism businesses regularly recruiting experienced staff. Kuala Lumpur provides urban convenience, international dining, shopping and public transport, while Malaysia’s islands and coastal areas offer a more relaxed resort lifestyle. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in tourism and business. Living costs are generally lower than in many major international cities, although central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company usually handles the application. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, salary, accommodation, medical cover and service-charge arrangements before relocating. Malaysia’s tropical climate is warm and humid year-round, with heavier rainfall during monsoon periods.
