Destination Guide

The Spanish Islands offer varied hospitality opportunities, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events, tourism sales, wellness and guest services. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Mallorca, Ibiza and Lanzarote have strong seasonal demand, while larger resorts and luxury properties also recruit year-round. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with relaxed coastal living, local festivals, outdoor dining and strong international communities. Lifestyle benefits include warm weather, beaches, hiking, water sports and generally shorter commuting distances, although housing can be expensive in popular resort areas. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals can work in Spain with standard registration requirements. Non-EU applicants normally need an employer-supported work and residence permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and contract. Candidates should confirm current rules with Spanish authorities or the relevant consulate. Learning Spanish is highly useful, even when English is the main business language.
