Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-island with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, and retail. The culture is multicultural, blending Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, with English widely used in business and daily life. Lifestyle benefits include excellent public transport, safety, efficient services, diverse food, shopping, green spaces, and an active nightlife scene. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, so many newcomers share apartments or live near MRT lines. Foreign professionals generally need employer-sponsored permission to work, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to Ministry of Manpower eligibility rules and salary requirements. Relocating candidates should arrange a valid work pass, accommodation, health insurance, banking, and tax registration. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
