Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, education, logistics and regional corporate services. The culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences reflected in food, festivals and daily life. Public transport is efficient, and the city is clean, safe and convenient, although accommodation and dining can be expensive. Popular lifestyle options include hawker centres, shopping districts, parks, beaches on Sentosa and easy weekend travel to nearby countries. Foreign interns must confirm that the employer will arrange the appropriate work authorisation, commonly a Training Employment Pass or another eligible pass; approval depends on nationality, qualifications, salary and employer requirements. Secure accommodation, insurance and sufficient funds before arrival, and check current immigration rules with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower.
