Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are strong in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, events, and luxury services. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected, particularly in public and religious settings. Life in Dubai is modern, convenient, and energetic, with beaches, shopping, desert activities, nightlife, and excellent transport, although summer heat and living costs can be high. Employers usually arrange a residence and work visa after hiring, while medical testing and Emirates ID registration are required. Never work on a tourist visa. Confirm accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, annual leave, flights, and salary conditions in writing before relocating. Dubai has no personal income tax, but rent and daily expenses should be budgeted carefully.
