Destination Guide

Indonesia is an extensive archipelago, with Bali, Java, Lombok, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and the Riau and Nusa Tenggara islands offering different lifestyles and employment opportunities. Bali has strong demand for hospitality, tourism, wellness, food and beverage, events, marketing, and digital-content roles, particularly in resorts around Nusa Dua, Seminyak, Ubud, and Canggu. The culture is welcoming and community-oriented, with Hindu ceremonies, temple traditions, local markets, and a relaxed social atmosphere. Living costs vary: Bali’s tourist areas can be expensive, while local neighborhoods are more affordable. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate Indonesian work visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with documentation, accommodation, transport, insurance, and relocation, but candidates should confirm all terms before accepting an offer. Tropical weather, traffic, seasonal tourism, and adapting to local customs are important considerations.
