Good organisation, attention to detail, presentation ability, and knowledge of local wedding customs are important. Destination Guide

Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to Sabah on Malaysian Borneo, with job opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, retail, marine activities, healthcare, education, and construction. The lifestyle is generally relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, islands, diving, hiking, tropical parks, and Mount Kinabalu nearby. Sabah is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indigenous communities, and many international visitors; respectful dress, friendliness, and awareness of Muslim customs are important. Living costs are usually lower than Kuala Lumpur, although waterfront housing and imported goods can be expensive. English is common in hotels, while Malay is useful for daily life. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and approval depends on the role, qualifications, and Malaysian immigration requirements. Relocating staff should confirm housing, transport, insurance, tax status, medical checks, and visa arrangements with Marriott before accepting an offer.
