Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with diverse opportunities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and the eastern islands. Jakarta, on Java, offers the widest range of corporate, hotel, restaurant, retail, and technology jobs, while Bali is especially strong in tourism and wellness. Indonesian workplace culture values politeness, hierarchy, personal relationships, teamwork, and respect for religious and cultural traditions. Lifestyle varies from fast-paced metropolitan living in Jakarta to a more relaxed, outdoor-oriented routine in Bali and coastal regions. Living costs, traffic, heat, and humidity should be considered; Jakarta has extensive shopping, dining, and entertainment but can be busy. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work authorization and KITAS, and must not work on a tourist visa. Employers usually coordinate immigration paperwork, but applicants should confirm eligibility, fees, health insurance, accommodation, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
