Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle hub. Hospitality jobs are available in international hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, aviation, retail, and tourism, particularly for applicants with customer-service, language, and hotel experience. Local culture values Islamic traditions, family, modest dress, hospitality, and respectful public behavior; alcohol is restricted to licensed venues. Life in Doha is modern and convenient, with malls, beaches, museums, sports, and desert activities, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the employer usually arranges medical checks, documentation, and sponsorship. Before relocating, confirm salary, housing, meals, transport, insurance, annual leave, probation, and contract terms. Costs vary significantly depending on employer-provided accommodation and benefits.
