Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago, and this job is in Jakarta on Java, the country’s busiest island and main business center. Hospitality opportunities are widely available in Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Batam, and other tourist destinations, especially in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and event venues. Indonesian workplaces commonly value respect for seniority, teamwork, punctuality, and polite communication. Jakarta offers extensive public transport, shopping, dining, and entertainment, but also has heavy traffic, a fast pace, and relatively high living costs. Bali and Lombok provide a more resort-focused lifestyle, while Java offers broader career development. Foreign workers generally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work authorization, such as a work permit and limited-stay visa; tourist visas do not allow employment. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, taxes, visa sponsorship, and contract terms. Learning basic Indonesian is useful for daily life and workplace integration.
