Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, events, tourism, aviation, retail, and luxury resorts. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international workforce; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected, particularly in public and religious settings. Abu Dhabi offers a quieter, family-oriented lifestyle, modern shopping, beaches, parks, and desert activities, while living costs can be high. Employers normally sponsor work visas, arrange medical testing and Emirates ID processing, and may provide accommodation, transport, insurance, meals, and flights. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, working hours, accommodation, probation, leave, and recruitment-fee arrangements before accepting an offer. Never pay an agency for a UAE employment visa without verification. Public transport is improving, although many hospitality employees use employer transportation.
