Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, especially in coastal destinations such as the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns and regional resorts. Demi Chefs, cooks and other kitchen professionals are commonly recruited by hotels, restaurants, clubs and catering businesses. Workplace culture is generally practical, team-oriented and informal, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, fair treatment and customer service. The Gold Coast lifestyle combines beaches, outdoor activities, dining and entertainment, although rent and transport costs should be researched before relocating. International applicants typically need an appropriate work visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another skilled pathway; eligibility depends on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation lists. Applicants should confirm current requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocation planning should include accommodation, tax file registration, banking, health insurance and recognition of cookery qualifications.
