Destination Guide

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events and customer service, with larger markets in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and coastal destinations. Adelaide has a relaxed lifestyle, lower housing costs than some major cities, excellent food and wine, festivals and easy access to beaches and regional areas. Australian workplace culture is generally friendly, direct, punctual and team-oriented, with strong employment, safety and anti-discrimination laws. Candidates usually need a valid work right, such as an Australian passport, permanent residency, Working Holiday visa, student visa with work limits or an employer-sponsored visa. Before relocating, check visa eligibility, tax file number requirements, health insurance, accommodation and transport costs. Adelaide has reliable public transport, but a car can be useful for suburban or regional work. Salaries are normally quoted before tax, and minimum pay and penalty rates are regulated by Australian awards or workplace agreements.
