Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Abu Dhabi offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, waterfront promenades and nearby islands such as Yas and Saadiyat. Hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare and technology provide regular job opportunities, especially in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values and a highly international workforce; modest dress and respectful behavior are appreciated. Lifestyle can be comfortable and modern, with excellent restaurants, shopping, beaches and desert activities, though summers are extremely hot. For most overseas employees, the employer arranges a work permit and residence visa after hiring. Do not work on a tourist visa. Confirm accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, leave, probation and end-of-service benefits before accepting an offer. Bring certified documents and budget for initial expenses until payroll begins.
