Destination Guide

Spain’s main island employment markets are the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca, and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, events, tourism sales, wellness and guest services provide the greatest number of opportunities, with hiring strongest before the summer season. Life is generally outdoors-focused, social and relaxed, with beaches, local festivals, strong food traditions and an international community. Rent can be high in Ibiza, Mallorca and popular resort areas, while seasonal accommodation is common in hospitality. EU and EEA citizens can work without a visa but must register and obtain the relevant Spanish identification and social-security documents. Non-EU applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting. Candidates should confirm accommodation, contract length, transport and seasonal conditions before relocating.
