Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a modern Gulf country offering extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation, construction, healthcare and business services. Dubai, where Le Royal Meridien is located, has a multicultural population and a fast-paced, service-oriented lifestyle. English is widely used in workplaces, while Arabic is the official language. The climate is hot for much of the year, with mild winters and strong air-conditioning indoors. Dubai provides beaches, shopping malls, dining, public transport and diverse cultural attractions, though living costs can be high without employer accommodation. Most overseas employees require an employment visa sponsored by their employer; the company normally arranges the work permit, medical examination, Emirates ID and residency formalities. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, annual leave and return-ticket provisions before relocating.
