Destination Guide

Grand Cayman offers employment opportunities in tourism, hotels, restaurants, watersports, retail, finance, healthcare, construction, and professional services. The island has a multicultural community, with Caymanian traditions influenced by Caribbean, British, North American, and international residents. Lifestyle is relaxed and centered on beaches, boating, diving, dining, and outdoor activities, although living costs—especially rent, groceries, and transportation—are high. English is the official language, and the US dollar is widely accepted alongside the Cayman Islands dollar. Foreign nationals generally need a work permit arranged or supported by an employer before starting work; eligibility, fees, medical checks, and renewal rules should be confirmed with Cayman Islands immigration authorities. Relocating employees should clarify housing, transport, healthcare, insurance, flights, and permit responsibilities in the employment offer. A valid passport and relevant qualifications or experience are normally required.
