Destination Guide

Fiji offers hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, construction, retail, healthcare, education, and marine-related employment, with many opportunities concentrated around Nadi, Denarau, Suva, and resort islands. Fijian culture values warmth, community, respect for elders, and sharing; English is widely used, alongside iTaukei and Fiji Hindi. Life is generally relaxed, with beaches, outdoor activities, village visits, markets, and strong community connections, although imported goods and accommodation in tourist areas can be expensive. Overseas workers normally need an employer-supported work permit before starting employment, and should confirm requirements with Fiji Immigration and the employer. Relocating staff should arrange a valid passport, police and medical documents, travel insurance, accommodation, banking access, and transportation plans. Resorts may provide meals, uniforms, transport, or staff housing, but these benefits vary and should be confirmed in writing before accepting an offer.
