Job Description

The Chopper supports the hotel kitchen by preparing meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables and other ingredients according to recipes, portion standards and hygiene requirements. Candidates should have basic kitchen experience, sound knife skills and a good understanding of food safety and sanitation. Physical stamina, attention to detail and the ability to work quickly in a busy hotel environment are important. The successful candidate is expected to follow instructions, maintain clean and safe work areas, reduce food waste, store ingredients correctly and cooperate with chefs and other kitchen colleagues. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required. Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant or large-scale kitchen is advantageous, while relevant culinary training may be accepted.
