Destination Guide

Australia is a large island continent with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, retail, healthcare, construction and technology. Brisbane offers a warm subtropical climate, a relaxed outdoor lifestyle, riverfront dining, beaches within reach and access to national parks. Australian workplace culture is generally informal, punctual and team-oriented, with emphasis on safety, equality and clear communication. Living costs can be high, especially for rent, transport and utilities, so budgeting is important. International candidates need an appropriate visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, Temporary Skill Shortage visa or another employer-supported pathway; eligibility depends on nationality, occupation and qualifications. A Voyage position may require existing Australian work rights, so applicants should confirm this with Marriott. Relocating usually involves arranging accommodation, tax and banking registration, health insurance and an Australian tax file number.
