Destination Guide

Phuket offers substantial employment in hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness, retail and marine activities, with opportunities concentrated around Phuket Town, Patong, Kata, Karon and Laguna. Thai culture values politeness, respect for elders, calm communication and appropriate dress, especially at temples. Lifestyle ranges from busy nightlife and international dining to relaxed beaches, local markets and outdoor activities. Living costs vary; housing near major resort areas is usually more expensive than in Phuket Town. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before legally starting employment. Employers commonly assist with documentation, but requirements should be confirmed with Thai authorities. Relocating staff should budget for deposits, transport, healthcare and initial living expenses, and check contract details, accommodation, service charge and visa support before accepting an offer.
