Job Description

The Chief Steward leads the stewarding team and oversees the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of kitchens, dishwashing areas, equipment, and back-of-house facilities. Requirements typically include previous experience in hotel or resort stewarding, preferably in a supervisory role, knowledge of food-safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to operate and maintain kitchen-washing equipment. The successful candidate should be physically fit, organized, dependable, and comfortable working shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Strong team leadership, communication, training, inventory control, and problem-solving skills are expected. Familiarity with Marriott or other international hotel standards is an advantage.
