Destination Guide

The Farm at San Benito is in Luzon, the Philippines’ largest island, about two to three hours south of Manila depending on traffic. Luzon offers extensive opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, business services, healthcare, and information technology, while nearby Batangas is known for resorts, beaches, diving, agriculture, and manufacturing. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and strongly influenced by regional traditions, Spanish history, and English-language education. Lifestyle costs are generally lower outside Manila, though transport and housing should be researched near Lipa. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly a 9(g) work visa; requirements can change, so confirm details with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities. Relocation planning should include accommodation, health insurance, local transport, and typhoon-season preparation.
