Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hotels and resorts regularly recruit security officers, front-office staff, chefs, engineers, housekeeping teams and managers, although applicants usually need relevant experience and good English. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences. Public transport is excellent, healthcare and infrastructure are strong, and Sentosa offers beaches, attractions, restaurants and an active leisure scene. Living costs, especially rent, are high; shared accommodation can reduce expenses. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and sector rules. Employers normally handle the application. Before relocating, confirm the job’s pass eligibility, accommodation arrangements, medical requirements and any security licensing obligations.
