Destination Guide

The Philippines offers growing opportunities in software engineering, IT consulting, business process services, finance, healthcare, tourism, and digital operations. Metro Manila, including Taguig and Makati, is the main corporate hub, while Cebu and Davao also have active technology and service industries. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and collaborative. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living and shopping to beaches, mountains, and island travel; traffic and rainy-season disruptions are common in Manila. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, with requirements handled through Philippine authorities and the sponsoring company. Professionals should confirm eligibility before relocating, arrange housing near work or transport routes, and budget for deposits, healthcare, utilities, and commuting. Local salaries are paid in Philippine pesos, and benefits vary by employer. Remote or hybrid arrangements should be confirmed directly with EY.
