Destination Guide

Ireland offers opportunities in financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, professional services, engineering, healthcare and multinational operations. Dublin is the main employment centre, while Cork has strong technology, life-sciences and financial-services sectors. Irish workplaces are generally collaborative and informal, with direct communication, team socialising and respect for work-life balance, although advisory roles can involve long hours during transactions. The lifestyle includes attractive coastal and rural scenery, lively music and cultural communities, and easy access to European travel. Housing, particularly in Dublin and Cork, can be expensive and competitive, so securing accommodation early is important. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa. Non-EEA nationals normally need an employment permit and, depending on nationality and stay length, an entry visa. Eligibility depends on the occupation, salary, employer and permit type; applicants should check current requirements with Ireland’s Department of Enterprise and Immigration Service before relocating.
